The origin of the name "film" comes from the fact that photographic film has historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. A common name for film in the United States is movie, while in Europe the term cinema is preferred. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema and the movies.

There are many popular film that reflect the eco-social system of that region where it made. Film is not just an entertainment medium. It says about system, policies, rules, bad or good etc. Original film is those which have a particular say about the system or any social problem.
